VisuMax All Laser LASIK

VisuMax FemtoSecond Laser

The future of LASIK

World-renowned optical device manufacturer Zeiss has broken new ground in the world of refractive eye surgery. The VisuMax Femtosecond System is a cutting-edge, comprehensive solution for All-Laser Femto-LASIK and refractive surgery techniques both in development and not yet conceived. LaserVue Eye Center is proud to be the first eye center to offer this latest technology in Northern California!

VisuMax employs advanced femtosecond laser technology to bring patients the highest-quality performance available.

Patient Comfort & Safety

Combined with an Excimer laser, the VisuMax Femtosecond system from Zeiss can improve patient comfort and the workflow of each procedure by keeping the patient in one location.

During the procedure, the patient lies comfortably on the pivotable table. This table is able to rotate between the femtosecond and Excimer lasers, allowing for quick, efficient, safe, and comfortable procedures.

Instead of moving the sedated patient from one treatment device to another, the patient is able to relax and experience the surgery as a single, integrated, uninterrupted process.

Performance & Precision

VisuMax combines the highest possible levels of precision, efficiency, and innovation, allowing for the best possible surgical experience for both patient and doctor. VisuMax is the champion of high-precision corneal flaps. Computer-controlled flap parameters allow for high reproducibility and consistency, with widely adjustable flap diameter, thickness, and hinge position.

The curved contour of VisuMax’s contact glass revolutionizes corneal flap creation. Most systems deform the cornea into a flat surface to perform the cutting procedure, risking possible artifacts. Zeiss’ contact glasses are curved just like the cornea. They also come in different sizes, allowing for maximum customization and comfort based on the size and shape of the patient’s eye. The cornea keeps its natural shape and the VisuMax femtosecond laser creates a precise corneal flap.

The Benefits of Zeiss VisuMax

Complete Control

With VisuMax’s cutting edge technology, the doctor is always in complete control of the procedure.

The VisuMax Femtosecond system boasts both an integrated high-quality surgical microscope and integrated slit illumination for the most precise visual control during all phases of a procedure.

On top of that, VisuMax’s intuitive software and easy-to-use touchscreen make controlling every detail as easy as possible.

Precision Cutting

High-precision optics from Zeiss provide an extremely focused laser beam.

The result: minimum laser pulse energy at a high pulse frequency for unsurpassed incision control – at precisely the desired depth in the cornea, allowing perfect three dimensional, curved incisions.

Low energy means no tissue damage and no need for high dose post-operative steroids.

Brilliant Design

VisuMax, unlike most other systems, does not deform the cornea and change its natural curve into a flat surface. The contact glass in the Zeiss Patient Interface is curved just like the cornea, allowing the procedure to be performed without the patient experiencing pressure or temporary “vision blackouts.”

The patient remains as safe as possible and the procedure is as comfortable as possible.

Efficiency

The VisuMax system also handles keratoplasty procedures with ease.

VisuMax can perform high-precision, high-quality cuts at a rapid pace. This makes it perfect for corneal transplant procedures, like penetrating keratoplasty (PKP) and deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK), among a wide range of others.

Performance

VisuMax’s performance is owed in large part to its extremely precise and efficient 500 kHz laser pulse frequency.

Zeiss optics provide unsurpassed laser beam focus and control with minimum laser pulse energy at a high pulse frequency. Even for the deepest, most complex cuts, VisuMax typically takes less than 60 seconds.

Slit Illumination

VisuMax contains an integrated slit illumination system in order to keep track of the patient’s ocular health at all times during and after the procedure.

Integrated slit illumination means that the patient doesn’t have to move to a different area for Dr. Bansal to monitor ocular health, allowing for the best possible results.
