A recent patient in our office asked this question:
Q: What if my eye moves during LASIK?
A: While attempted fixation on the target is important, our current laser systems have effective tracking abilities that follow the eye’s movement. In fact, if you look at eye tracking videos on LASIK technology websites you will see laser ablation performed on patients with nystagmus, which presents as rapid involuntary eye movement.
Our eye constantly moves. This allows us to see the world. Without eye movements, our vision would fade away. We do not see these eye movements because our brain is very effective at processing our images to present a stable world to us.
At LaserVue we offer the newest LASIK technology. Our patients can be assured that they will receive the highest level of safety available in LASIK surgery.
